Supports Fat Metabolism. A meta-analysis published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2007) found that CLA supplementation led to a modest but statistically significant reduction in body fat in humans. CLA may help maintain lean body mass during calorie-restricted diets or intense training periods. This effect is particularly attributed to the trans-10, cis-12 isomer, which modulates lipid metabolism and muscle protein synthesis pathways. CLA is related to Omega 6, though it does not have the same functions. However it is known for inhibiting fat storage, hence they are certainly worth trying, particularly after meals.
